Football Welcomes Lake Erie for Senior, Veterans Appreciation Day

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican football team hosts Lake Erie in its final home game of the 2021 season on Saturday, Nov. 6.

The Panthers and Storm are set for a noon kickoff at Panther Stadium. ODU will celebrate its 12th annual Veteran's Appreciation Day, while also honoring its senior class prior to the start of Saturday's contest.

OPENING KICKOFF

  • Ohio Dominican will look to bounce back from a 34-21 setback at Tiffin last week, in what was a battle of first place teams in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference standings.
  • Saturday will mark ODU's third home game in the past four weeks.
  • The Panthers have over 450 yards of offense in back-to-back games entering the LEC game, raising the team's total offensive average to 387.3 yards per game.
  • ODU is also second in the G-MAC in scoring defense, allowing 23.2 points per game.
  • Evan Ernst (Mason, Ohio) produced his second 300-yard performance of the season last week and has five such games in his career.
  • David Turner (Fort Wayne, Ind.) moved into fifth all-time at ODU with 24 career touchdown receptions after recording two at Tiffin.
  • Dauson Dales (Defiance, Ohio) leads the defense with 100 tackles, 16 shy of tying a single season program record.
  • Eddie Miller-Garrett (Newark, N.J.) and Aarin Smoot-Baker (Columbus, Ohio) each have 9.5 tackles for loss this fall.

  • Michael Powers (West Mansfield, Ohio) recorded his third career double-digit tackling performance last week at Tiffin.
  • In his most recent outing, Powers registered a season-high 10 tackles.

NUMBERS TO KNOW

  • 10: ODU has won 10 straight games against Lake Erie. The Panthers lead the all-time series, 11-1.
  • 13: ODU will recognize 13 senior student-athletes prior to kickoff on Saturday.
  • 15: David Turner is the only active player across all of NCAA with 15-plus catches in six straight seasons.
  • 18: ODU is in its 18th season of football and with a win on Saturday, can secure its 13th season with a winning record at home.
