Football Treks to Tiffin for First-Place Conference Showdown

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- For the third straight year, Ohio Dominican football will meet Tiffin with both schools tied atop the Great Midwest Athletic Conference standings.

The Panthers and Dragons are slated for a 4 p.m. kickoff at Frost Kalnow Stadium in Tiffin, Ohio on Saturday, Oct. 30. 

OPENING KICKOFF

  • ODU and TU are both 3-1 in G-MAC play, also tied with Findlay and Hillsdale atop the conference standings. 
  • ODU is coming off its best performance of the season, a 56-17 win vs. Walsh.
  • The win over WU marked hte program's first time achieving 500 yards and 50 points of offense since Sept. 2019.
  • The Panthers rushed for six touchdowns in the win over the Cavaliers, marking the fourth time in ODU's history. 
  • Evan Ernst (Mason, Ohio) has 16 total touchdowns this fall and in three career appearances against Tiffin has 568 passing yards and eight total scores.
  • Frederick Pitts V (Huber Heights, Ohio), 537, and Travis Whittaker (Gahanna, Ohio), 439, make ODU the only school with two rushers in the top six of the G-MAC this fall.
  • After another strong defensive performance, ODU has lowered its season scoring defensive average to 21.9 points per game, second-best in the G-MAC.
  • Dauson Dales (Defiance, Ohio) has double-digit stops in three staight outings and five times in eight games this fall.

  • Frederick Pitts V now ranks fifth all-time in career rushing yards at ODU. 
  • After 104 yards against Walsh, Pitts has 1,630 for his career.

NUMBERS TO KNOW

  • 1: Tiffin head coach Cris Reisert ranks first at ODU in career passing yards (13,388) and touchdowns (120).
  • 3: Both Pitts and Whittaker rushed for three touchdowns against Walsh.
  • 6: Ernst has completed six passes of 40 or more yards this fall, including twice last time out. 
  • 11: With the win over Walsh, ODU has secured its 11th consecutive winning season. 

UP NEXT

  • The Panthers return home for Senior and Military Appreciation Day on Saturday, Nov. 6.
  • ODU will kickoff at noon against Lake Erie.
