COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's softball team fell in both games of a doubleheader against Bellarmine dropping game one 3-0 before a 9-0 loss in five innings in game two.

Senior Landry Slider (Stow, Ohio) reached base four times to lead the offense going 3-for-3 with three singles in game one. Freshmen Madison Shemwell (Owensboro, Ky.) and Braxton Downs (Prospect, Ky.) each had singles in both games. Senior Cameron Barber (Powell, Ohio) reach based three times on the day with a single in game one and having a pair of walks in game two.

In game one, the Knights jumped on the Panthers scoring a run in the first and would score a pair on a two run homer in the second. The Panthers left a pair on base in the second, one in the fourth and one in the sixth to go along with a pair in the seventh.

ODU threatened a rally in the seventh as Slider singled to lead off the inning and Barber singled with one out to put runners on the corner. ODU would leave the pair on the corners ending the game with a strikeout and a pop out.

Sophomore Sydney Long (Ashland, Ohio) pitched a complete game giving up the three earned runs on seven hits with three strikeouts.

After a scoreless first inning in game two, the Knights would take advantage of a Panther error to score a run in the second before a five run third inning to go up 6-0. The Knight would hit a three run home in the fourth to go up 9-0. The Panthers left 10 on base in game two with four hits and five walks.

ODU, now 4-8 overall, heads to Florida to play eight games over the course of next week opening with Concordia-St. Paul and Indiana (Pa.) Friday with games slated for 2:30 p.m. and 4:45 p.m.
