INDIANAPOLIS – Ohio Dominican's softball team extended their win streak to 14 games with a 2-0 win in game one before dropping game two 9-1 against No.17 Indianapolis Wednesday afternoon in a nonconference doubleheader.

In game one, freshman Sydney Long (Ashland, Ohio) threw her second complete game shutout of the year allowing just four hits while striking out six Greyhounds.

After two scoreless frames from each team, the Panthers were able to strike for a pair in the top half of the third. Brooklyn Rayburn (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) reached on an error and came around to score on a Carson Hackerd (Frankfort, Indiana) double to deep center field. Landry Slider (Stow, Ohio), who was 2-for-3 in game one, then singled to left field with two outs to bring Hackerd around to score.

Long stranded seven Greyhounds on the bases and never allowed a runner past second base.

In game two, UIndy jumped on the Panthers scoring four runs in both the second and third innings before Kristen Bales (Pickerington, Ohio) doubled in the fifth to bring Rolon around to score making the score 8-1. They Greyhounds would score once more in the bottom half to end the game in the fifth.

The Panthers are back in action this Saturday, April 6 as they travel to Ohio Valley to take on the Scots at 1 and 3 p.m.
