NASHPORT, Ohio — Ohio Dominican's men's golf team scored a 326 on final day competition at the GLIAC Championships on Sunday at The Virtues Golf Club.
Junior Ryan Thompson (Dunfermline, Scotland) shot a team-low round of 78 to lead the Panthers on Sunday. Thompson finished with a three-round score of 239 (80-81-78) to pace ODU for the tournament, finishing in a tie for 42nd overall.
Senior Austin Goodridge (Lima, Ohio) finished with a 240 (77-78-85), recording the second-lowest total score of the tournament for the Panthers. Goodridge led ODU on day two with a 78. The senior recorded five top 20 finishes in 2016-17 and recorded 14 top 20 finishes for his career, which included 11 top 10 finishes and six top five placings.
Finishing with the third-lowest score for ODU was freshman Blake Saffell (Somerset, Ohio), who recorded a 241 (75-87-79). The freshman recorded four birdies on the day. Sophomore Drew Wayman (Wapakoneta, Ohio) shot a 252 (89-79-84) and senior Marshall Stretch (Liberty Township, Ohio) scored a 257 (88-79-90) in his final match as a Panther. Stretch recorded two top 10 finishes this year and shot a career-low round of 72 at the MVNU Cougar Classic on April 1.
Overall, ODU finished in the top 10 of three tournaments this spring, including two top five finishes.
