Box Score COLUMBUS, Ohio – In its second home game in as many days, the Ohio Dominican men's soccer team fell to Ohio Valley by a final of 1-0.
After delaying their opening match until Friday, the Panthers (0-1-1) were unable to score a result in the second match of the back-to-back. With the win, the Fighting Scots improve to 2-0-0.
After a scoreless first half, the Fighting Scots would find the back of the net in the 68th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
ODU would have a few opportunities to tie the match in the second half, but the OVU goalkeeper would turn away each chance making a total of eight saves in the contest.
Junior Andrew Schwall (Gahanna, OH) would tie for the team lead in shots with three attempts, and led the Panthers with all three coming on goal.
Freshmen Tyler Thomas (Granville, OH) and Ryan Kasprzak (Hilliard, OH) would combined for three shots on goal, as they both tied Schwall for the team high in shots at three apiece.
The Black and Gold will be back on the pitch on Friday, September 11 against conference foe Lake Erie. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Panther Stadium.
