Panthers Battle with #13 Cedarville in Season Finale, Coming Up Short 1-0

CEDARVILLE, OH - In their final game of the season, the Ohio Dominican men's soccer team fell 1–0 to the No. 13 Cedarville Yellow Jackets after conceding a late second-half goal.

Cedarville controlled much of the offensive play, outshooting ODU 19–5, including an 8–2 advantage in shots on goal. The match was physical throughout, with both sides committing 11 fouls. The Yellow Jackets were issued two yellow cards, while the Panthers picked up one yellow and one red, forcing them to play a man down in the second half.

The lone goal came in the 69th minute, when Eddie Merck found the back of the net inside the left post for his third goal of the season, assisted by Amari Everage.

Freshman goalkeeper Brandyn Bowden made his debut for ODU, staying active between the posts with five saves on 19 shots, allowing just the one goal. Seniors Blaivon James and Miguel Angel Santillan Camarero each registered shots on goal for the Panthers, while fellow seniors Brenton Molli, Brad Leonard, and Lucas Baker played the full 90 minutes.

The Panthers concluded their season with a 3–10–5 overall record and a 3–7–4 mark in G-MAC play, finishing seventh in the conference standings—surpassing their preseason projection of 10th place.
