Box Score 2 FINDLAY, Ohio -- Playing for the third consecutive day, the Ohio Dominican softball team dropped two GLIAC contests at Findlay on Tuesday.
With the two losses, the Panthers (7-23, 3-5 GLIAC) fell to 3-3 in the three day stretch. Findlay improved to 12-9 overall and 2-0 in the conference.
ODU fell behind 4-0 in the first four innings before rallying to cut into the Oiler lead with three runs in the top of the fifth inning. Senior Kelsey Seeds (Westerville, OH) tripled to center field to score Kelly Wallace (Oshkosh, WI) and Brandis Fishel (Gahanna, OH).
Freshman Taylor Kline (Bellville, OH) would then foul out in the next at-bat, but Seeds would score on an error to cut the UF lead to 4-3.
The Oilers would answer in the bottom half of the inning as they would score four runs to cap off the scoring for the first game, winning 8-3.
In the second game, UF would again jump out to an early lead, scoring three times in the opening three innings. The Panthers, however would score four runs in the bottom of the third inning to take their first lead.
ODU would load the bases with singles from Casey Murdoch (Morrow, OH) and Seeds, followed by Kline being hit by a pitch. Junior Lizzy Weber (Canton, OH) would then clear the bases with a double to right field.
Sophomore Allie Hinton (Newcomerstown, OH) would then reach first on an error as Weber would score to give the Panthers a 4-3 lead.
The Oilers would take control of the game again though, as they added three runs in top of the fourth inning and one more in the sixth to take the second game by a final of 7-4.
The Panthers will look to rebound on Saturday, April 4, at 1:00 p.m. as they travel to face GLIAC foe Tiffin for a doubleheader.
