Box Score WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Ohio Dominican's baseball team dropped its fourth straight game, falling 7-3 to Wayne State (Neb.) College on Tuesday at the Russ Matt Central Florida Invitational.
The Panthers fell behind 7-0 going into the bottom of the seventh before getting on the board via an RBI double by senior Kyle Tisdale (Uniontown, Ohio) and a two run single by freshman Lee Sponseller (Mason, Ohio).
ODU (3-4), though, left the bases loaded that frame, then went down in order in both the eighth and ninth innings.
WSC (4-5) scored three runs in the first, two in the fourth and two in the seventh to take control of the game.
Tisdale and Sponseller each had two hits, and freshman Cody Paterniti (Chardon, Ohio) went 2-for-3 with a walk in his debut.
Senior Vince Bartolone (Broadview Heights, Ohio) pitched well in relief, fanning four in 1.2 innings.
Ohio Dominican takes on Northwood in a non-conference doubleheader starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
