Box Score COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican men's soccer team dropped a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match Sunday afternoon, to No. 13 Saginaw Valley State 6-0.
The Panthers fall to 0-7-2 (0-6-1 GLIAC), while the Cardinals stay atop the GLIAC, improving to 8-2-0 (6-1-0 GLIAC).
The Cardinals started the match strong scoring three times in the opening 30 minutes, while finding the back of the net a total of five times in the opening half. ODU would get outshot 29-7 for the match.
Senior goalkeeper Justin Alexander (Reynoldsburg, OH) made a season high 11 saves, the second time this season he has posted double digit saves.
Junior Andrew Schwall (Gahanna, OH) and freshman Yugi Yamada (Tsukuba, Japan) each logged two shot attempts to lead ODU.
The Panthers will start the second leg of conference play next weekend when they welcome Tiffin for a 7 p.m. kickoff on Friday, October 9.
