Box Score UNIVERSITY CITY, Mich. – Ohio Dominican men's soccer team rallied late on the road against No. 19 Saginaw Valley State, but fell 3-1 on Friday afternoon.
The Panthers allowed the opening three goals of match to the Cardinals (11-2-0, 9-1-0 GLIAC), before answering with a goal of their own.
Freshman Ryan Kasprzak (Hilliard, OH) scored in the second straight match, running his team high season total to four.
Posting his first collegiate point of his career was sophomore Austin Blair (Cincinnati, OH) as he assisted on the Kasprzak goal in the 56th minute.
SVSU started the scoring in the fourth minute as Jordan Kalk scored his 16th goal of the season, while Tyler Channell added a goal in the 26th minute to give the Cardinals a 2-0 halftime lead. Kalk added to his season goal total in the 53rd, as he leads the nation in goals scored this year.
ODU was outshot 20-5 for the match, as the Cardinals also held a 9-2 advantage in shots on goal. Freshman Tyler Thomas (Granville, OH) and Blair each posted two shots, while Kasprzak ended with just the one attempt.
The Panthers (0-10-2, 0-9-1 GLIAC) will head to Midland, Mich. at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday when they face No. 10 Northwood in a GLIAC contest.
