Box Score 2 COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's baseball team managed just nine total hits in falling 5-2 and 5-0 to visiting Walsh in a GLIAC doubleheader Wednesday from Panther Valley.
The Panthers fell to 22-18 (12-13 GLIAC), while the Cavaliers improved to 20-22 (12-12).
In the opener, ODU committed two errors, leading to four unearned runs, and tallied just four hits. Walsh scored two unearned runs in the third inning, then plated three more runs – two unearned – in the fourth to take a 5-0 lead.
Senior Bryan Rudolph (Pickerington, Ohio) had an RBI single in the bottom of the fourth, and a balk in the sixth inning led to ODU's second run, but that was all the scoring the Panthers could manage.
Junior Alberto Canales (West Park, Fla.) went the distance but was charged with the loss despite allowing just five hits.
ODU didn't fare much better in game two, as Walsh jumped to a 2-0 lead in the second, then score three times with two outs in the fourth to take control.
The Panthers tallied just five hits and never had a runner reach third base in the shutout.
Ohio Dominican is on the road for a three-game series at Saginaw Valley, beginning with a doubleheader Saturday that starts at noon.
