Box Score 2 COLUMBUS, Ohio – Two big innings by Lake Erie spelled doom for Ohio Dominican's baseball team, who fell by scores of 10-2 and 6-1 in a GLIAC doubleheader Thursday at blustery Frank Damian Field.
Lake Erie (8-7, 2-0 GLIAC) scored seven runs in the first inning of game one, then broke open a 1-1 score in game two with five runs in the sixth to get the sweep.
The Panthers (10-7, 0-2 GLIAC) committed five errors in the opener then three more in the nightcap. ODU managed just 10 hits between the two games as well.
Lake Erie jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning of game two, but ODU tied it in the fifth on a sacrifice fly by junior Kyle Tisdale (Uniontown, Ohio).
The Storm answered with five runs in the sixth though to pull away for the sweep.
Ohio Dominican returns to action for a doubleheader Saturday with Lake Erie beginning at 1 p.m. at Panther Valley.
