Baseball Drops Tournament Opener 10-2

YPSILANTI, Mich. – Ohio Dominican's baseball team fell to Ashland 10-2 in the opening round of the GLIAC Baseball  Tournament on Wednesday on the campus of Eastern Michigan.

With the setback, the fourth-seeded Panthers fell to 23-27 on the season and will take on No. 1 seed Grand Valley at 2 p.m. Thursday. Ashland improved to 33-16 and will face No. 2 seed Wayne State at 5:30 p.m. tomorrow.

Ashland scored four runs in each of the first two innings to jump in front 8-0, then tacked on two runs in the fourth to go on top 10-0.

Freshman Jacob Horsley (Thornville, Ohio) blasted his first home run of the spring in the sixth inning to account for the Panthers' first run, and sophomore Phil Jaskot (Upper Arlington, Ohio) had a sacrifice fly in the seventh to conclude the scoring for ODU.

Ashland out-hit the Panthers 12-6 and ODU was also victimized by three errors.
