FULL RELEASE IN PDF

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Following its 47-7 home victory over Northern Michigan, Ohio Dominican's football team has its second road contest in three weeks against a nationally ranked GLIAC opponent as the Panthers head to Allendale, Mich. to take on No. 4 Grand Valley State at 7 p.m. Saturday.

The Panthers unleashed a scoring barrage on Northern Michigan in the second quarter, reaching the end zone three times in the final 3:22 of the first half to take a 24-0 lead at intermission. Freshman Ronald McCloud (Cleveland, Ohio) scored on a 93-yard pass play, and following an interception by sophomore Martavius Lewis (Wellington, Fla.), freshman Tajuan Green (Columbus, Ohio) scored on a two-yard run. ODU's defense then forced a turnover on downs, and sophomore Mark Miller (Cincinnati, Ohio) found McCloud again for a 53-yard bomb with nine ticks left.

Sophomore Abe Johnson (Cincinnati, Ohio) (28 yards) and sophomore Casey Williams (Nashport, Ohio) (49) had long second half touchdowns as well as ODU rolled up 501 yards of offense, throwing for 341 and running for 160.

The Panther defense was stellar throughout, limiting the Wildcats to 62 yards rushing on 38 carries (1.6 per carry) and forcing five turnovers, including three picks and two fumble recoveries. Freshman Billy Eakins (Pickerington, Ohio), making his first start, had two interceptions and a sack that resulted in a fumble he recovered, and junior Justin Bell (Groveport, Ohio) had 12 tackles to help lead the way.
