COLUMBUS, Ohio- The Ohio Dominican men's soccer team went on the road last weekend and won two conference games defeating Notre Dame (Ohio) 2-1 and Lake Erie 2-0. With a successful weekend sweep, the Panthers improve to 3-2 overall with a 2-1 mark in the GLIAC. Tonight, they face a 7-0 Cedarville Yellow Jackets on Panther Field at 7:00 p.m.

About the Panthers:
The victory over Notre Dame saw the Falcons 22 game winning streak, including 18 at home come to an end. The game started with sophomore Jakob Szabo (Worthington, Ohio) scoring his first goal of the season with a header in the 42nd minute off the assist from senior Tyler Heurkamp (Loveland, Ohio).
The Falcons struck following the break, scoring in the 51st minute from a Christian Earnest header assisted by Tom Owens.
Senior Justin Wheeler (Gahanna, Ohio) connected into the back of the net at the 73:42 mark giving the Panthers the lead 2-0, marking his second goal of the season.
In the second half of the Lake Erie game, the Panthers took advantage and outshot the Storm 12-7 and scored their two goals. In the 49th minute two seniors made a connection to give the Panthers the 1-0 lead as senior Colby Catlett's (Hilliard, Ohio) shot was blocked and rebounded for the goal by Andrew Elder (Hilliard, Ohio).
With 20 minutes left in the game junior Billy McGlone (Lexington, Ohio) nailed his first goal of the season to extend the lead to 2-0.
Freshman Macklin Robinson (Cincinnati, Ohio) earned his first win as a Panther stopping six shots on goal.
About the Yellow Jackets:
Cedarville will enter Panther Field undefeated (7-0) with their latest win 1-0 over Robert Wesleyan September 15. During their seven game win streak they have shut out the opposition four times and three straight games.
Steve Ellis knocked in a penalty kick in the second half for the only score of the game.
The Yellow Jackets outshot the Redhawks 17-2, including 5-0 on shots on goal. With this win Ethan Dewhurst earns his second shutout of the season.
About the Series:
The Panthers and Yellow Jackets have met 10 times with the Panthers having a record of 6-3-1. Three of the games have been settled in overtime with the teams splitting the OT games. ODU has won four of the last five matches, the last loss coming in 2005 (1-2) in the American Mideast Conference Qualifier. The last meeting in 2008 was a 3-2 win at Cedarville.
