COLUMBUS, Ohio -- After suffering a 38-20 defeat at the hands of No. 25 Hillsdale, Ohio Dominican's football team returns to Panther Field as ODU welcomes Northern Michigan to Columbus for the first time at 1 p.m. Saturday.
The Panthers will try to get back on track after being outgained 420-244, committing four turnovers and allowing Hillsdale to possess the ball for over 40 minutes.
Leading ODU on Saturday was junior defensive back Justin Bell (Columbus, Ohio), who recorded a career-high 16 tackles, which was tied for fifth-most in ODU single-game history. He was named one of BSN College's Defensive Players of the Week following his performance. Also setting career-bests in tackles were sophomore linebacker Martavius Lewis (Wellington Beach, Fla.) with nine, and freshmen defensive backs Billy Eakins (Pickerington, Ohio) and Brad McCurdy (Columbus, Ohio) with seven and six, respectively. Senior defensive lineman Eli Kovach (Eastlake, Ohio) had 2.5 tackles for loss as well.
Sophomore wide out Abe Johnson (Cincinnati, Ohio) had his first career multi-TD game, hauling in passes of 12 and 13 yards for scores from classmate Mark Miller (Cincinnati, Ohio). Johnson had career-bests in catches (six) and yards (63). Freshman Ronald McCloud (Cleveland, Ohio) tallied his first career touchdown, finding the end zone on a nine-yard run in the fourth quarter, while junior Ronnel Spates (Cleveland, Ohio) led the running game with 49 yards.

THE SERIES
This is the first all-time meeting between Ohio Dominican and Northern Michigan. The Wildcats are one of four first-time opponents for ODU this season, joining Virginia-Lynchburg (Sept. 1), Grand Valley State (Sept. 22) and Notre Dame (Oct. 20) as making their first appearance on the Panther schedule.
