About the Panthers:
The Panthers made their 5-1 GLIAC Conference Tournament quarterfinal match over Malone a memorable one, as it was the first postseason tournament the university has hosted since joining the conference in 2010.

ODU saw five different players score as they came out hot, scoring early in the ninth minute of the game when sophomore Frazer Fernandes (Gahanna, Ohio) scored his third goal of the season, after junior Duncan Campbell (Hilliard, Ohio) sent a header to senior Justin Wheeler (Gahanna, Ohio) for the touch pass to Fernandes.

With momentum still in full swing, ODU added their second goal when Fernandes won the battle after a loose ball in front of the net, and sent it out to an awaiting sophomore Jakob Szabo (Worthington, Ohio) for the 2-0 lead.

The Black and Gold were not done, as the Panthers added another goal in the first half when Wheeler knocked in his sixth of the year and sending ODU into the locker room with a 3-0 lead.

At the 72:48 mark, senior Casey Weddle (Cincinnati, Ohio) had his turn in adding a goal to the Panther scoreboard, when he met up with Szabo to give the Panthers a three goal lead.

A little over a minute later, Campbell chipped in his third goal and the final for the Panthers.

About the Falcons:
The Falcons came from behind to score another big road victory on Sunday afternoon, defeating Ohio Dominican, 2-1, to claim the GLIAC South Division crown.

The victory for the Falcons was their third in a row, and earned them a first round bye in the GLIAC tournament.

The Panthers, who upset the Falcons, 2-1, at Korb Field earlier this year to end NDC's 22-game winning streak, got on the board first, at the 11:35-mark, on Colby Catlett's goal.  However, ODU's offense could not put much of a threat together after that, as they were only able to get five shots off after Catlett's goal.

Notre Dame responded less than five minutes later, when Erik Beattie found the back of the net for his first of two goals on the day.  Beattie's goal at the 11:56-mark tied things up, and he gave the Falcons the lead a few moments later.

The Falcons snapped a 1-1 tie in the 37th minute, on Beattie's header that went over the head of

Beattie's goals put him at the head of the class in the GLIAC.  The senior from Madison, Ohio, leads the conference in goals (10) and points (20).

The Series:
Friday's semifinal will be the third matchup this season and seventh time since 2001 that ODU and Notre Dame have met on the field. The Panthers hold a 3-3-0 record in the series, including a 1-0-1 mark this year against a Falcon squad that was ranked at the times.
