Panthers Look to Carry Momentum to Northeast Ohio for Contest at Notre Dame

FULL RELEASE IN PDF

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio Dominican's football team earned a 63-31 win at Findlay last Saturday and will try to make it two in a row on the road this weekend as the Panthers visit Notre Dame for a 7 p.m. tilt this Saturday.

For the fourth time in the past five games, ODU finished with 500 or more yards of offense, generating 320 on the ground and 230 through the air as the Panthers outscored Findlay 35-7 in the second half for the key GLIAC South Division victory last Saturday.

Freshman Brandon Schoen (Olentangy, Ohio) became just the second back in ODU history to register four consecutive 100-yard games as he finished with 162 on 25 carries. Freshman Tajuan Green (Columbus, Ohio) tallied a season-best 85 yards on just seven attempts, as did senior Mark Nichols (Newark, Ohio), who ran the ball nine times for 63 yards.

Sophomore Mark Miller (Cincinnati, Ohio), the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week, had touchdown passes of 59, 33, 22 and 14 yards as he completed 12-of-19 throws. His top target, freshman Ronald McCloud (Cleveland, Ohio), hauled in five passes for 104 yards and two scores, while freshman Dez Stewart (Cincinnati, Ohio) had 64 yards and senior Andy Mick (Hamilton, Ohio) had 50, with each finding the end zone once.

The defense was led by junior Justin Bell (Groveport, Ohio), who tallied 12 tackles and forced a fumble, while senior Eisen Hardy (Pickerington, Ohio) had 11 stops. Senior Jeff White (Gahanna, Ohio) had an interception as ODU finished plus-two in the turnover battle, turning both takeaways into touchdowns.

After punting on its first possession of the second half, ODU scored touchdowns on its next five drives. The Panthers attempted just four passes after intermission – two of them for touchdowns - and ran the ball 33 times for 224 yards in the third and fourth quarters.
