Box Score URBANA, Ohio - After rallying from an early hole against Findlay on Sunday, the Ohio Dominican men's soccer team posted their second straight come-from-behind victory Wednesday evening, defeating former AMC foe, Urbana, 2-1 in a non-conference game to improve to 6-0 on the road this season.
The Blue Knights grabbed the early 1-0 lead at the 18:55 mark after Justin Parmenter fired a Joey Perkins' pass straight on from 20 yards out for his first score of the year.
Unlike Sunday's match, the Panthers were able to enter the break all square. With just over five minutes remaining in the half, senior Pat McGrath (Cincinnati, OH) received a perfect cross from classmate Joe Pissocra (Dublin, OH) from 17 yards out, and beat the diving keeper for the equalizer and his first goal of the season.
ODU struggled to penetrate Urbana's sagging defense for much of the second half, but were able to breakthrough in the 79th minute as Justin Wheeler (So./Gahanna, OH) found Felix Darko (Jr./Reynoldsburg, OH) who blasted the game winner off the crossbar from about 20 yards out.
Darko, through eight games this season, leads the team and is tied for second in the GLIAC with four goals and nine points. His three game-winning goals are also tops in the conference.
ODU goalkeeper and reigning GLIAC Player of the Week, Tyler Gleason (Sr./Grove City, OH), recorded five saves in the victory, including a Nick Kadoves' header as the final buzzer sounded.
The Panthers, 7-1-0 and 6-1-0 in the GLIAC, improve to 9-1-1 all-time against the Blue Knights who fall to 2-5-0 on the year. The team will look to stay unbeaten on the road as they travel to NCAA Division III No. 12 Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday, Oct. 2 for a 7:30 showdown of one-loss teams. Urbana will travel to Marian University in Indianapolis on Friday, Oct.1 for a 7:30 p.m. game under the lights.
