Box Score CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Looking to avoid a third straight loss, the Ohio Dominican men's soccer team dialed up the intensity for Friday night's game at No. 4 University of Charleston (W.Va.) and came away with one of the biggest upsets in school history; a thrilling 2-1 come-from-behind overtime victory.
After a scoreless 84 minutes, the Golden Eagles scored what looked like the game-winner as Dan Walmsley headed a cross to Ryan Osborne who headed it in for the 1-0 lead.
The Panthers would not go down without a fight and with just 21 seconds remaining in the game Joe Pissocra (Sr./Dublin, OH) sent in a cross that UC keeper Sean Teepen tried to clear, but deflected into the net for the equalizing score. Pissocra's score was the first of his career.
Seven minutes into overtime, Justin Wheeler (So./Gahanna, OH) connected on the game-winner and his first score of the year off a long Pissocra throw-in to the front of the goal. ODU did not allow the Golden Eagles to get a shot off in the extra session.
Keeper Tyler Gleason (Sr./Grove City, OH) turned away seven shots in 105 minutes of action.
With the upset, ODU improves to 7-1-0 on the road and 8-3-0 overall.
