Box Score COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Dominican men's soccer team controlled much of the tempo in Tuesday afternoon's game at Panther Field, but a defensive miscue allowed Slippery Rock to steal the 1-0 road victory and extend the Panthers losing streak to two.
Despite posting a 6-0 advantage on corner kicks and outshooting the Rock 7-5 in a physical first half that saw three yellow cards handed out, ODU entered halftime deadlocked at 0-0.
The Panthers continued to dominate the possession of the ball in the second, but a turnover in the defensive third opened the door for a breakaway goal by Zach Hall with 24:20 remaining in the game. His score was the lone shot allowed by ODU in the second.
Felix Darko (Jr./Reynoldsburg, OH) had a good look at the net with just over a minute left, but sophomore keeper Timothy White made a great play on the ball to preserve the SLU victory.
ODU finished with a 12-6 edge on shots, including 5-1 in the second, and had a 9-1 advantage on corners. Sophomore Andrew Edler (Hilliard, OH) led the way with a game-high four shots.
The Panthers (7-3-0) continue their non-conference play, traveling to the University of Charleston (W.V.) on Friday, Oct. 8 for a showdown with the Division II No. 4 Golden Eagles (6-1-1).
