This Week:
The Ohio Dominican men's soccer team continues non-conference play, returning home to host Slippery Rock University (7-2-1) at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 5, before traveling to No. 5 University of Charleston (W.V.) on Friday, Oct. 8 for a 7 p.m. showdown with the one-loss Golden Eagles. The Panthers resume GLIAC play on Sunday, Oct. 10, hosting Saginaw Valley State at 2:30 p.m. at Panther Field.

About the Panthers:
The Panthers split in their two non-conference road games last week, defeating former AMC foe, Urbana, on Wednesday 2-1, before falling at NCAA Division III No. 12 Ohio Wesleyan, 3-2, on Saturday evening. ODU posted two separate one-goal leads against OWU in the second half, but could not hang on as they suffered their first road loss of the season (6-1-0).
Felix Darko (Jr./Reynoldsburg, OH) scored two goals over the two games and leads the team with five goals and 11 points.
About the Rock:
The Rock defeated Seton Hill (Pa.) 3-1 on Saturday in their only game last week. SLU is currently tied atop the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference with a 4-2-0 mark. Kenneth Fultz and Anthony Paganie are tied for the team lead with four goals, three assists and eleven points each.
This is the first ever meeting between the Panthers and the Rock.
About the Golden Eagles:
The No. 5 Golden Eagles did not play last week, but are on a two-game win streak after defeating Malone, 2-1, and Seton Hill (Pa.), 2-0, on the road the week before. UC will travel to Concord (W.V.) on Tuesday, Oct. 5, before hosting ODU on Friday. The Eagles sit in third in the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Confernce, one game behind leader W.V. Wesleyan.
This is the second meeting between ODU and UC. The two teams last met in 2009 with the Eagles grabbing a 3-0 road win at Panther Field.
About the Cardinals:
The Cardinals went unbeaten on the road last weeked in GLIAC action, defeating Lake Erie 2-1 on Friday and tying No. 13 Ashland 1-1 in 2 OT on Sunday. SVSU is currently in fourth place in the GLIAC with a 3-2-2 record.
ODU defeated SVSU 1-0 earlier in the year for their third straight road win to begin the season. Tommy Glenn (So./Pataskala, OH) scored the game-winner, his first goal as a Panther, in the 70th minute.
