Eagles Take Two From Panthers in Ashland

ASHLAND, OH - Returning to the road and G-MAC conference play, the Ohio Dominican Panthers softball faced off against the Ashland Eagles softball in a Saturday doubleheader. The Panthers fell in both contests, dropping game one 4-1 and game two 3-0.

Game One (L, 4-1)
In game one, freshman pitcher Alyvia Lawrentz delivered a solid outing, pitching six innings while allowing five hits and four runs, along with four strikeouts. Offensively, four Panthers recorded a hit, highlighted by Hannah Plymale, who went 1-for-1 with a double and scored the team's lone run. Erica Massey drove in the only RBI, finishing 1-for-2 at the plate.

Ashland jumped out early with a three-run homer in the first inning. Ohio Dominican answered in the top of the sixth when Plymale led off with a double down the left field line and later scored on Massey's single to right. However, Ashland responded in the bottom half of the inning with an RBI double to extend the lead. The Panthers threatened in the seventh by loading the bases, but the Eagles held on to secure the win.

Game Two (L, 3-0)
In game two, Emma Grau took the circle for Ohio Dominican, pitching six innings while allowing seven hits and three runs, with four strikeouts. The Panthers managed just two hits in the contest, coming from Erica Massey and Reese Loveday.

Ashland plated all three of its runs in the bottom of the third inning and maintained control the rest of the way to complete the sweep.
