HILLSDALE, MI - Coming off a home conference win against Cedarville, the (9–13) Ohio Dominican women's basketball team traveled north to Hillsdale to take on the (12–8) Chargers inside Dawn Tibbetts Potter Arena. Behind a strong first half, Hillsdale pulled away with a 63–52 victory.
Top Performers
Senior Macy Chapman led the Panthers with 15 points, knocking down 4-of-5 from beyond the arc—her most three-pointers in a single game—while adding eight rebounds, two assists, and a steal. Mackenzie Hurd scored 10 points in 21 minutes of action, shooting 2-of-3 from deep and contributing two rebounds and three steals. Senior Sarah Ochs rounded out the top scorers with nine points, three rebounds, and a steal.
As a team, Ohio Dominican shot 31.6% from the field (18-of-57), connecting on 7-of-20 from three-point range and 9-of-14 from the free-throw line. The Panthers totaled 18 points in the paint and received 16 points from the bench.
Quarter Breakdown
The Panthers started slow in the first quarter, shooting 4-of-13 from the field and 1-of-3 from deep. Hillsdale took advantage, hitting 7-of-17 shots and building a 17–9 lead after one. Ohio Dominican responded in the second quarter, matching the Chargers with 15 points despite shooting just 28.5% from the field. Strong perimeter and free-throw shooting (2-of-5 from three and 5-of-6 at the line) helped the Panthers cut the deficit to 32–24 at halftime.
Hillsdale found its rhythm in the third quarter, scoring 20 points on 47.6% shooting while hitting 3-of-7 from beyond the arc. ODU added 15 points of its own but entered the fourth trailing by double digits. In the final frame, the Panthers outscored the Chargers 13–11, posting their best shooting quarter at 35.7% from the field and 50% from three. However, Hillsdale's early momentum proved too much to overcome, securing the 63–52 win.

The Panthers return to action on Thursday, the 12th, as they host the Ursuline Arrows in Columbus for a rematch at 5:30 p.m. Ohio Dominican previously defeated Ursuline 66–60 in Pepper Pike last month.
