Panthers Push Past Arrows, 74-56

COLUMBUS, OH - Kickstarting the end of the week, the Ohio Dominican women's basketball team welcomed the Ursuline Arrows to Alumni Hall for a 5:30 tip-off. With strong shooting throughout the night, the Panthers dominated the Arrows, 74-56.

Top Performers
Off the bench, Jazmyn Wheeler came out firing on all cylinders. She led the team with 18 points and nine rebounds, going 7-11 from the field (1-1 from three, 3-3 from the free-throw line) in 27 minutes of play. Mackenzie Hurd followed with a strong presence inside, finishing with 15 points and six rebounds on 7-13 shooting. Meghan Mayotte added 11 points, going 5-8 in 28 solid minutes. From beyond the arc, Gracie Cosgrove knocked down three triples for nine points.

Quarter Breakdown
The Panthers set the tone early with aggressive offense in the first quarter, pouring in 27 points in the opening 10 minutes. ODU shot an impressive 73.3% from the field (11-15), including 3-6 from three-point range. Ursuline shot 40% from the field and 2-6 from deep, totaling 15 points in the quarter.

In the second quarter, the Arrows improved their shooting, but ODU still edged them 15-13. The Panthers cooled to 35% shooting in the period, and the halftime score stood at 42-28 in favor of the Black and Gold.

Wheeler (5-6 from the field) and Mayotte (5-5) combined for 24 first-half points. ODU also tallied 17 bench points and 28 points in the paint, highlighting a balanced attack.

After halftime, Ursuline claimed the third quarter 19-16, posting its best shooting stretch at 62.5% from the field. ODU shot 50% (7-14) in the quarter and maintained a 58-47 lead heading into the final period.

In the fourth, the Panthers made a strong closing statement, holding the Arrows to just nine points while scoring 16 of their own. ODU's 40% shooting from three helped secure the 74-56 home victory. Overall, the Panthers finished 30-63 from the field, 7-21 from beyond the arc, and 7-10 from the free-throw line.

The Panthers now turn their attention to a rematch against the Findlay Oilers this Saturday at 1 p.m. at Alumni Hall. The last matchup between the two teams was decided by just one point.
