Men's Basketball Limits Findlay, Wins 73-60

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Looking to split the season series and gain more momentum for the 2026 G-MAC Tournament, the Ohio Dominican Panthers (16-8, 10-6) men's basketball team faced the Findlay Oilers (15-10, 9-8) on Saturday (Feb. 14) afternoon.  

Ohio Dominican avenged a loss on the road to Findlay last month with a 73-60 win in Alumni Hall as they continue to hold the fourth spot in the G-MAC. 

BOX SCORE NOTES 
  • Derek Goodman led the team in the scoring column for the 11th time with his sixth game with at least 20 points. Goodman scored 22 points on nine-of-14 shooting with three triples. He had two assists and a game-high four steals.  
  • Elijah Hinton got his fifth double-double of the season with 17 points and ten rebounds as he only missed two shots. He made seven-of-eight shots on the floor and was three-of-four shooting free throws.
  • Carson Seemann made three free throws to have seven points, four rebounds and four assists. 
  • Terrance Broughton scored 13 points, knocking down three threes of his five field goals while adding three assists. 
  • Zac Kimball had eight rebounds in the game. 
  • Ohio Dominican shot at least 50% for the ninth time this season. The Panthers were 50.0% (28-56) from the field while shooting 33.3% (6-18) from three and 55.0% (11-20) from the free throw line.
  • The Oilers finished with a 35.7% (20-56) field goal percentage, 30.0% (9-30) from three and 64.7% (11-17) at the stripe. 
  • ODU won the rebounding battle 41-29, had 17 assists to eight and scored 40 points in the paint. 
  • Findlay was the second best offense in the league, scoring 89.1 points per game and the Panthers held them to a season-low 60 points. 
  • This was the seventh time that ODU has held a team to 60 points or less.  
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Findlay led 8-2 in the first two minutes but Broughton got the Panthers back to even with a three pointer four minutes in - part of a 9-3 run that tied the game at 11. 
  • Back-to-back threes by Findlay pushed the lead to 17-11 with 14:31 left before ODU erupted for a 14-0 spurt over nearly five minutes. The Panthers led 25-17 with 9:33 to go in the first half. 
  • After the under-eight media timeout, Findlay scored nine straight points as they regained a 28-27 lead before the under-four minute media timeout. 
  • A Goodman three pointer capped a 7-0 run as the Panthers took back the lead at 34-28 but the Oilers trimmed it to 36-33 at halftime. 
  • After halftime, Goodman and Hinton combined for eight straight points as the lead grew to 44-33 three minutes in. 
  • Three consecutive three pointers by Findlay got the Oilers down 44-42 at the first media timeout of the second half. 
  • Ohio Dominican would not let Findlay any closer as the Panthers outscored Findlay 27-10 over 13 minutes of action to lead by 19 (71-52). 
  • The Oilers ended the game with an 8-2 run in 1:44 to fall 73-60 to Ohio Dominican.
