Columbus, Ohio - The Ohio Dominican women's soccer team hosted Walsh for their senior night and came up short with a final score of 2-0.
The Panthers honored the women's soccer senior class before the game. Savannah Angell, Avery Bowden, Natalie Burwinkel, Atenas Ramirez, Mallory Smucker, and Dema Wali walked across the field with their families and friends as they looked back on their time at Ohio Dominican. Graduate assistant Lucy Cross also walked as she graduates with her master's degree in May.
As the game began the teams remained scoreless in the first half. Walsh outshot Ohio Dominican 8-1 in the first half. As the second half began, Walsh found the back of the net as Kailey Hobart scored in the 57th minute. Shortly after, Jamie Duskey scored the second and final goal of the game bringing the final score 2-0. The Cavaliers had 20 shots, six on goal, while the Panthers had six shots, two on goal. Goalkeeper Ashley Fancher had three saves. Mallory Smucker and Madeline Hartke each had a shot on goal for the Panthers. Walsh led in corner kicks with six and Ohio Dominican had three.
For their next match, the women's soccer team will travel to Pepper Pike, Ohio where they will face Ursuline on Thursday, October 8th at 3:30p.m.
