INDIANAPOLIS, IN - After opening their 2025 season at the Eckerd Classic in St. Petersburg, Florida, with a 2-2 record over the weekend, the Ohio Dominican volleyball team saw a standout performance from senior outside hitter
Jenna Peters. Peters excelled in all four matches, earning her fourth career Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) South Division Volleyball Athlete of the Week honor—and Ohio Dominican's first of the season.Â
Over the weekend, the Vermilion, Ohio native racked up 57.5 points, totaling 53 kills with a .201 hitting percentage. She averaged 3.19 points and 2.94 kills per set. On defense, Peters also contributed 18 digs and five blocks for the Black and Gold.Â
In the opening match against Bemidji State, Peters recorded 14 kills, two blocks, and one dig while hitting .125 over five sets, adding 16 points for ODU. Against Eckerd, she again tallied 14 kills and added two digs, finishing with a .303 hitting percentage and 14 points. In the third match versus Maryville, she led with 17 kills, seven digs, and a .263 hitting percentage, contributing 18 points. She closed out the weekend with 10 kills and six digs against UPR-Mayagüez, adding 9.5 points in the final match.Â
Looking ahead to the second week of play, Peters and the Panthers will take on three opponents in Frostburg, Maryland, as they aim to build momentum heading into G-MAC competition the following week.Â
