COLUMBUS, Ohio - Following an explosive performance on Saturday (Sept. 20), junior defensive back RJ Maddox was named as the Great Midwest Defensive Athlete of the Week on Monday (Sept. 22). 

Maddox was a key aspect of the 20-14 win for the Panthers over the Tiffin Dragons at Panther Stadium as he intercepted two passes on the day. 

Both of his picks came in the second half, leading to the win. Leading 6-0 four minutes into the third quarter, Maddox grabbed his first interception of the day at midfield and gave the Panthers a short field to add onto the lead. 

His second one sealed the game with less than two minutes to go. Tiffin was attempting to drive to take away the 20-14 but Maddox was there to stop the comeback effort. 

Through two games, he is tied for the conference lead for interceptions with three.
