NORTH CANTON, OH - The Ohio Dominican women's soccer team traveled to North Canton, Ohio, on Thursday night to open up conference play for the season. The Panthers ultimately fell to the Walsh Cavaliers, 3-0, after 90 minutes of action.

Walsh applied consistent offensive pressure throughout the match, attempting 21 shots—15 of which were on goal—and earning eight corner kicks. Ohio Dominican recorded 11 shots, six on target, and had four corner kick opportunities, with two in each half.

Goalkeeper Ella Schnitzer had a busy night in goal, tallying 12 saves while allowing three goals, all of which came in the second half. The match wasn't overly physical, as both teams kept it relatively clean. Walsh committed nine fouls to ODU's eight, and no cautions were issued.

All three of Walsh's goals were scored in the second half. The Cavaliers broke through in the 69th minute with a goal by Carli Miller, assisted by Kate Young. Just two minutes later, Paityn Marino found the net with help from Jamie Duskey. Walsh capped off the night with a penalty kick goal in the 88th minute, converted by Corinne Casenhiser.

The Panthers return home for more conference action on Saturday, hosting the Lake Erie Storm at Panther Stadium. Lake Erie is coming off a dominant 4-0 win over Kentucky Wesleyan. Kickoff is set for 5:30 PM.
