Panthers Picked Sixth in G-MAC Preseason Poll Ahead of Season Opener

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The Ohio Dominican women's soccer team is set to kick off its season in just eight days with a matchup against Roberts Wesleyan. Ahead of the season, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) released its preseason coaches' poll, placing Ohio Dominican in sixth place with a total of 78 points. 

Leading the poll are the reigning G-MAC champions, Ashland, who earned 133 points and 11 first-place votes. Northwood followed in second with 115 points, while Findlay took third with 112 points. Cedarville claimed the fourth spot, receiving one first-place vote and 110 points overall. Walsh completed the top five with 88 points. 

Ohio Dominican landed in sixth with 78 points, just ahead of Malone, who came in seventh with 75 points. Thomas More followed in eighth with 67 points, while Kentucky Wesleyan and Ursuline rounded out the top ten with 47 and 45 points respectively. Lake Erie claimed 11th place with 37 points, and Tiffin was ranked 12th with 29 points. 

Head coach Tony Daniels enters his third season at the helm of the Panthers, coming off a 5-7-6 overall record in 2024, including a 5-4-5 mark in G-MAC play. This fall, Daniels welcomes back six returning seniors, while also integrating 12 incoming freshmen and two redshirt freshman transfers into the squad. The Panthers open the season at home on September 4 at 5 PM against Roberts Wesleyan. Conference action begins on September 18 with a road game against Walsh in North Canton.
