CANTON, Ohio - The Ohio Dominican Panthers women's golf team made their final preparations for the conference championships at the Walsh Cav Classic on Monday (April 14) and Tuesday (April 15).
Competing at Glenmoor Country Club, the Panthers finished third of nine teams with a 631 (+55). They shot their fifth best round of the season in round one, a 313 (+25) before a 318 (+30) in the second round.
The team totaled one eagle (only of the tournament), ten birdies and 91 pars to place fourth in the birdies and pars category.
Panthers Results
- Caroline Tragesser: Ended the tournament in second place with a 9-over 153 after rounds of 4-over 76 and 5-over 77
- Tallied the lone eagle in the tournament and was tied for fourth with four birdies
- Sydney Devore: Tied for seventh place, scoring a 156 (+12); started the tournament with a 3-over 75 (season-best) before shooting 9-over 81 in round two
- Had three birdies and led the Panthers with 20 pars
- Ellyn Deibel: Finished in a 11th place tie at 159 (+15) - scored 9-over 81 in the first round before a 6-over 78 to close the event
- Brooklyn Numbers & Maria Briceno Vargas: Tied for 17th place with a 163 (+19)
- Numbers shot a career-low for 36 holes as an individual with respective rounds of 6-over 78 (career-low) and 85 (+13)
- Briceno had rounds of 9-over 81 and 82 (+10) in the tournament
- Alana Miller: Competed as an individual for the Panthers with a 168 (+24), tying her season-low for 36 holes with two rounds of 84 (+12) in 26th place
- Marissa Cline: Was one stroke behind Miller in a 27th place tie at 169 (+25), shooting 84 (+12) and 85 (+13)
- Meg Saffell: Tallied a 178 (+34) for the tournament in 41st place after rounds of 86 (+14) and 92 (+20)
The Panthers are competing in the 2025 Great Midwest Women's Golf Championships in Florence, Indiana from April 24-26th.
