NORTH CANTON, Ohio - The Ohio Dominican Panthers (9-15, 5-11 G-MAC) men's basketball team finished a seven day stretch with their fourth game as they competed against the Walsh Cavaliers (8-14, 4-12 G-MAC) on Thursday (Feb. 13) night.
Walsh managed a series split for the season, taking Thursday's contest 94-74 at Alumni Arena.
BOX SCORE NOTES
- Terrance Broughton had the most Panther points for the fifth time this season, leading with 17 points. He made three threes of his seven field goals while grabbing a career-high eight rebounds.
- Elijah Hinton earned his fifth double-double of the season with 15 points and ten rebounds.
- Brady Moore scored 16 points for his ninth double-figure game of the season. He had a team-high four threes, adding to his scoring total.
- Antonio Carter nailed both of his field goals for four points in the game.
- Tony Ezeonu was perfect from the floor (2-of-2) and the free throw line (4-of-4) as he scored eight points while dishing out three assists.
- Derek Goodman had a final line of seven points, four rebounds and three assists.
- Ohio Dominican shot 43.8% from the floor in the game, converting 28-of-64 attempts. Walsh shot 57.1% overall, making 36-of-63 shots.
- Walsh won the three point category 16-10 with ODU going eight-of-eight to take the free throw battle.
- This was the first time all season that the Panthers were 100% at the line.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Moore started the scoring with a three pointer as the Panthers led 3-0 in the opening minute.
- Walsh answered with a 10-0 run on a pair of threes, gaining a 10-3 lead three minutes in.
- ODU scored seven of the next ten points, trimming the deficit to 13-10 at the under 16 minute mark.
- Three minutes went by as the Cavaliers used a 13-0 run to pull ahead 26-10.
- The lead grew to as many as 16 in the half (35-19) but the Panthers attempted a rally.
- A 9-0 ODU run got the lead down to 35-28 with seven minutes left before halftime.
- The teams exchanged threes as ODU pulled within seven (38-31) once again. Walsh closed the first half, leading 50-37 at the break.
- The Cavaliers led by double-digits for the entire second half, winning 94-74.
