Shackleford’s 21 Points and Chapman’s Double-Double Lead Panthers Past Miami-Hamilton

COLUMBUS, Ohio In their final matchup before the Christmas break, the Ohio Dominican women's basketball team delivered a commanding performance Saturday night, defeating the Miami-Hamilton Harriers at Alumni Hall, 87-52. The victory marks the Panthers' fourth win of the season as they head into the holidays on a high note.

Top Performers

The Panthers' offense was once again anchored by Jenna Shackleford, who poured in a team-high 21 points and grabbed six rebounds. Joining her in the spotlight was Macy Chapman, who recorded a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Chapman was a force on both ends of the floor, contributing three assists, three steals, and a block. Freshman Eve Schwemley rounded out the top scorers, efficient from the field (5-of-7) to finish with 12 points, four rebounds, and two assists.

Game Breakdown

Ohio Dominican set the tone early, outscoring the Harriers 20-10 in the opening frame. While the first quarter saw a modest shooting percentage, the Panthers ignited in the second, shooting a blistering 60% from the field. By halftime, ODU had built a 22-point cushion, leading 46-24.

The Panthers' dominance was most evident in the paint, where they tallied 38 points. They also controlled the glass, out-rebounding Miami-Hamilton 28-20 in the first half alone.

The momentum continued into the third quarter as ODU maintained their lead with 57.1% shooting. With the game well in hand by the fourth quarter, the Panthers utilized their depth. All 13 players saw floor time, including Brooke Nelson, who sparked the bench five points, late in the game.
