CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY -Â The Ohio Dominican volleyball team continued its four-game road stretch Saturday night at Thomas More University, taking on the Saints inside the Connor Convocation Center.
The Panthers came away with another weekend sweep, earning their 20th win of the season. ODU dominated nearly every statistical category except service aces, finishing with an impressive .383 team hitting percentage, including a .393 mark in the opening set.
Ashley Aselage continued her stellar play, leading at the net with 12 kills and tying for the team lead with two blocks. She also reached a major career milestone — surpassing 1,000 career kills as a Panther. Seniors Jenna Peters and Grace Zinchuk followed with eight kills apiece, while Zinchuk added two blocks and Peters contributed nine digs. Saige Avery paced the offense with 22 assists and also notched two service aces.
SET BREAKDOWN
The Panthers opened set one with poise, building early momentum through strong kills from Aselage and Peters. ODU held a 16-10 advantage midway through and closed out the frame 25-18.
Set two mirrored the first, with the Panthers maintaining control throughout. After taking leads of 9-5 and 17-11, ODU pulled away late with a six-point rally to secure a 25-16 win.
In the final set, Avery fired back-to-back service aces to give ODU a 12-7 lead. Although the Saints attempted to close the gap, the Panthers responded with another four-point run to finish the sweep 25-17 — marking their 10th G-MAC victory of the season.
