KWC Sneaks Past ODU in Saturday Matchup, 2-1

OWENSBORO, KY -  The Ohio Dominican men's soccer team traveled to Owensboro to face Kentucky Wesleyan in a crucial match for sixth place in the G-MAC standings, just behind Lake Erie for the final tournament spot. ODU ultimately fell to the Panthers, 2–1, after two hard-fought halves.

Scoring opened in the 12th minute when Braden Myers found the back of the net for Kentucky Wesleyan, assisted by a pair of teammates.

Early in the second half, Blaivon James equalized for the Panthers with his third goal of the season, assisted by Hayden Hoelting. However, just seven minutes later, KWC reclaimed the lead as Haakon Torvbraaten netted his fourth goal of the year — a strike that proved to be the game-winner.

Statistically, Ohio Dominican recorded eight total shots (five on goal), while Kentucky Wesleyan tallied 11 (six on goal). Both goalkeepers made four saves, and each team earned three corner kicks.

The match was physical throughout, with KWC committing 14 fouls compared to ODU's six, including two yellow cards against the away side.

James led the ODU attack with four shots — two on target and one converted. Kristofer Ninov, Brenton Molli, and Miguel Angel Santillan Camarero also registered shots on goal.
