COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Dominican women's soccer team continued its G-MAC campaign on Thursday night, hosting the Malone Pioneers for a hard-fought matchup that ended in a 1-1 draw. The Panthers' equalizer came late in the second half from freshman Sophia Ralofsky.Â
Despite the tie, Ohio Dominican outshot Malone 13–8, with five shots on goal compared to the Pioneers' six. The Panthers turned up the pressure after halftime, recording nine of their 13 shots in the second half.Â
ODU also held the advantage in corner kicks, earning five to Malone's two. The match was physical throughout, with the Pioneers committing eight fouls and the Panthers seven, including one in the box. Goalkeeper Ella Schnitzer stood tall in net, tallying five saves—three in the first half and two after the break.Â
Both goals came in the second half. Malone struck first when Camryn Emerling's penalty attempt led to a scramble in the box, allowing Brynn Mowrer to clean up the loose ball and net her fifth goal of the season with a right-footed finish.Â
Ohio Dominican responded late, as Savannah Angell created chaos inside the box with a shot attempt that deflected off several players before finding Ralofsky, who capitalized with a quick strike that ricocheted off a Malone defender and into the goal.Â
The draw marks ODU's seventh of the season and fourth in conference play. The Panthers will take a nine-day break before returning to action on October 18 against Northwood in Midland, Michigan. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m.Â
