MIDLAND, MI - As the Ohio Dominican women's soccer team enters the final stretch of its season, the Panthers traveled to Midland, Michigan, to face the 7-1-4 Northwood Timberwolves at Dean Field. Despite a strong effort, ODU came up short, falling 1-0 after 90 minutes of play.Â
Northwood's lone goal came early in the first half. In the 10th minute, Mia Thomson found the back of the net with a low strike to the right corner, assisted by Carly Boyd.Â
The Timberwolves recorded 14 shots, including six on goal, forcing ODU goalkeeper Ella Schnitzer to make five saves. Northwood also held the edge in corner kicks, 7-4, and committed 12 fouls compared to ODU's 8 in a physical match.Â
Offensively, the Panthers registered nine shots, with seven on goal. Off the bench, Mallory Smucker and Kerinne Mueller each tallied three shots—all on target—while junior Ali Mathis added another shot on goal.Â
