MIDLAND, MI – Coming off a strong win on Thursday, the Ohio Dominican men's soccer team hit the road to face Northwood University in another G-MAC matchup. The Panthers battled to a 1-1 draw, with the Timberwolves scoring first in the opening half before ODU answered in the second.
Despite the tie, Ohio Dominican outshot Northwood 19-13, including a 5-4 edge in shots on goal. Goalkeeper Joseph Deitering recorded three saves on the day to help secure the result.
The Panthers also held the advantage in corner kicks, 5-1, while Northwood committed more fouls, 13-8. Both sides received one yellow card.
Northwood got on the board early when Josh Rowland connected with Jackson Dear for a goal in the ninth minute. ODU responded in the 59th minute, as Brenton Molli netted his second goal of the season off a well-placed assist from Aiden Crowley to even the score at 1-1.
Ean Encarnacion led the Panthers with three shots, two of them on target. Molli added two shots, converting one for the equalizer. Off the bench, Charlton Thomas tallied three shots (two on goal), while Veron Fongeh added two attempts of his own.
Ohio Dominican returns home for a tough test against Thomas More University on Thursday, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. at Panther Stadium.
