COLUMBUS, OH – The Ohio Dominican men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Tiffin University on Saturday afternoon at Panther Stadium.
The Dragons netted a goal in each half, opening the scoring in the 13th minute when Sebastian Alvarez converted off a free kick opportunity. Shortly after halftime, Tiffin doubled its lead with a goal from Anelson Azard—his third of the season.
Tiffin controlled much of the possession, outshooting the Panthers 10-2 in the first half and 7-2 in the second. The Dragons also held a 6-1 advantage in shots on goal. Both teams attempted three corner kicks, while Tiffin committed 12 fouls to ODU's 10.
Goalkeeper Joseph Deitering made four saves in the match—two in each half. Offensively, Veron Fongeh registered the Panthers' lone shot on goal, while Brad Leonard, Logan French, and AJ Stingel each added one attempt.
With the loss, Ohio Dominican turns its focus to a rematch against Malone University, whom they drew 0-0 on October 9. The Panthers will host the Pioneers at Panther Stadium on Wednesday, October 16, with kickoff set for 6:30 p.m.
