Men's Soccer Drops Heartbreaker on the Road, 4-3

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Kentucky - The men of Ohio Dominican's soccer team traveled to Thomas More last night (Sep 26) for a game under the lights. In a scoring showdown, the Panthers fell just short to the Saints, 4-3.

The match started with a quick goal from Thomas More's Finn Battenstein at the 4th minute, assisted by Charlie Allan and Daniel Marcano. Within only four minutes, Ohio Dominican responded with an equalizer from freshman forward Mamadou Sow.

Just before halftime, the Saints regained the lead with a goal at the 40th minute by Julan Van Egmond, assisted by Daniel Marcano and Arkin Ulusoy.

The second half started with a goal by Ohio Dominican just four minutes in. Forward Felipe Corral tied the score 2-2 with a goal at the 49th minute, assisted by Mamadou Sow. With back and forth play for 20 minutes, the Panthers took the lead for the first time by drawing a penalty kick goal at the 70th minute by Mamadou Sow.

In another quick 90 seconds, the Saints responded with an equalizer goal by Xavier Munro, assist by Ulusoy Arkin. To secure the win for Thomas More, Arkin Ulusoy drew a penalty kick goal at the 76th minute, winning the match 4-3.

Thomas More shot 12 total times in the game, nine being on goal. Ohio Dominican shot the ball eight times, three being on goal.

Goalkeeper Gannon Graf collected five saves for the night, allowing four goals. Freshman Mamadou Sow reserved himself two goals out of the Panther's three for the night.
