Ashland Scores Late in 2-1 Win over Panthers

ASHLAND, Ohio - The Ohio Dominican men's soccer team finished their week at Ashland last night under the lights at Ferguson Field. With a late goal, the Panthers were defeated by the Eagles, 2-1.

The first half ended scoreless by both teams. After 45 minutes of play, Ashland out-shot Ohio Dominican six shots to ODU's three. 

The scoring began late in the second half with Panther Blaivon James connecting a goal at the 70th minute, taking the first lead of the game, 1-0.

With an aggressive push by Ashland, Oliver Whaley drew a penalty kick goal at the 86th minute, settling the score 1-1.

Nearing the 89th minute, the Eagles fired off a game winning goal from Pedro Faria, with an assist by Armah Evans. Ashland collected 18 total shots, 10 being on goal.

The Black and Gold finished the night with eight total shots, five being on goal. Goalkeeper Gannon Graf secured eight saves, allowing two goals.
