COLUMBUS, Ohio - On Friday evening, the Ohio Dominican volleyball team hosted their conference and home opener against reigning G-MAC champions, Hillsdale College.
The Panthers fell to the Chargers, 0-3 in the conference debut.
Right side Ashley Aselage led the Black and Gold at the net with 11 kills. Freshman Christen Tarter secured herself 13 digs and five assists in her debut as libero.
Setter Saige Avery added on 17 assists and 10 digs. Bailey Christiansen led at the net defensively, with three blocks.
How it happened
In the first set, Hillsdale led majority of the time, securing a 25-19 win.
With back-and-forth scoring in set two, there were four lead changes and nine tie scores between the two teams. But Hillsdale stole the last two points, winning 26-24.
In an exciting third set, the Panthers started off strong again, testing the Chargers. Within set three, there were 16 tie scores and six lead changes. At the end, the Chargers secured the match win by stealing the last two points, winning 28-26.

The Panthers remain at home for the weekend, hosting Northwood at 6 PM in Alumni Hall. ODU faced Northwood previously in the season at the Wayne State Invitational, falling 2-3.
