The Black and Gold secured two baserunners on the day with walks from

How It Happened
Hammer tabbed two strikeouts in the opening inning to get things started for ODU. Golden snagged a walk in her first at bat and was moved into scoring position, thanks to a sacrifice bunt from
Alli Madden (Cincinnati, Ohio).
In the second, Grand Valley State snagged the first hit of the game with single to right center. The Panthers followed with another walk in their half of the inning but couldn't bring her around to score.
In the top of the sixth, GVSU got on the board, taking a 1-0 lead after a two out double and three consecutive singles. The Black and Gold had no answer for the Lakers defense and fell in the opening round of the regional.
