Men's Golf Ends Bill Blazer Memorial in Fourth Place

URBANA, Ohio - The Ohio Dominican Panthers men's golf team hosted six other teams as a part of the Spring tradition Bill Blazer Memorial at the Urbana Country Club. 

Ohio Dominican finished fourth of seven teams for the 36-hole event on Friday (April 5) and Saturday (April 6). The Panthers shot 301 in the first round and shot 298 in the second round. Overall, ODU finished with a 599 for two rounds. 

Senior Jackson Parnell (Maineville, Ohio) led the Panthers with a sixth place finish as an individual. Parnell tallied two rounds of 1-over 73 (season bests), notching seven birdies and 20 pars for a 146 (+2). 

Junior Yadhu Urs (Castries, Saint Lucia) finished one stroke behind Parnell, shooting a 3-over 147. Urs shot 75 in round one before going even-par 72 in the second round. Urs was one of seven players to have an eagle while having five birdies and 20 pars in a seventh place tie.

Senior Kai Squires (Dunstable, United Kingdom) and sophomore Nash Linder (Grove City, Ohio) tied for 11th place with a 4-over 148. Squires set a career-best with a 36-hole score after identical rounds of 74. He led all players with ten birdies. Linder tied a career-low with a 1-under 71 in the second round after a 77 in the first round. The sophomore added six birdies and 20 pars. 

Sophomore Kolin McKee (Sunbury, Ohio) slotted in 15th place with a 5-over 149. McKee tied a season-low with 73 and followed with a 76 on Saturday. He added an eagle with five birdies. 

Juniors Jeremiah Bane (Grove City, Ohio) and Tyler Andersen (Columbiana, Ohio) ended the event with an 8-over 152 in a 17th place finish. Bane scored rounds of 77 and 75 with Andersen reversed at 75 and 77, respectively. Bane was tied with Linder for six birdies while Andersen had five birdies and had 21 pars. 

Graduate student Jack Lindgren had 23 pars as he had two rounds of 78 for a 156 (+12) in a 25th place tie. 

Sophomore Bryce Cobb (Anna, Ohio) finished in 31st place with a 160 (+16). Cobb had a first round 78 and went for 82 in the second round. 

Ohio Dominican will compete at the Wright State Invitational on Sunday (April 14) and Monday (April 15) in Springboro, Ohio.
