Panthers Tie Best Conference Finish; Urs Placed on All-Conference Team

OWENSBORO, Ky. - The Ohio Dominican Panthers men's golf team took to the course for the 2024 Great Midwest Men's Golf Championships at the Pearl Club on Monday (April 22) and Tuesday (April 23). 

Ohio Dominican finished fourth as a team, tying the best G-MAC finish for the Panthers. They tallied rounds of 296 and 289 on the first day of the tournament and ended moving day with a 298. The overall total of 883 (+19) was the fifth best score over the length of 54 holes.

Junior Yadhu Urs (Castries, Saint Lucia) was tied for eighth place, earning an automatic spot on the All-Conference Team. Urs finished one over with a 217 after two rounds of even par 72 and an 1-over 73. He made seven birdies for the week and led all players with 40 pars. 

Junior Jeremiah Bane (Grove City, Ohio) ended just behind Urs in tenth place one stroke behind his teammate. Bane shot 2-over 218 for the tournament with two rounds of even par 72 and then 2-over 74 in the final round. He had the most birdies of the Panthers at ten along with 34 pars. 

Sophomore Nash Linder (Grove City, Ohio) and junior Tyler Andersen (Columbiana, Ohio) were tied with totals of 231 (+15), tying for 34th place. Linder shot rounds of 3-over 75, 80 and 4-over 76 while Andersen scored 77, 1-over 73 and 81. Both players had 32 pars in the tournament. Andersen made seven birdies while Linder notched six of his own. 

Senior Jackson Parnell (Maineville, Ohio) ended the tournament with a 236 (+20) total score, five strokes behind Andersen and Linder in 47th place. Parnell responded from a 89 first round with a even par 72 and a 3-over 75. He has seven birdies and 30 pars.
