SPRINGBORO, Ohio - The Ohio Dominican Panthers men's golf team battled against a number of Division I opponents as they competed in the Wright State Invitational on Sunday (April 14) and Monday (April 15).
On the links at Heatherwoode Golf Club, Ohio Dominican finished second of 11 teams (nine D1 teams) after shooting 862 (+10) for 54 holes. With rounds of 294, 288 and 280, the Panthers totaled the second lowest 54-hole score in program history. The final round of 280 was a school record for an individual round.
Junior
Jeremiah Bane (Grove City, Ohio) was the highest Panther in eighth place as he shot 1-under 212. Bane started with a first round 75 before going 3-under 68 and 2-under 69 in rounds two and three. He set a career-best with his 54-hole score. Bane led all Panthers with 11 birdies and was third with 33 pars.
Junior
Yadhu Urs (Castries, Saint Lucia) ended with a 1-over 214 in a tenth place tie, setting a career-low. After first day rounds of even par 71 and 3-over 74, he tied his season low with a 2-under 69. Urs had nine birdies and 35 pars for the tournament.
Sophomore
Nash Linder (Grove City, Ohio) was six over with a 219 in 16th place. Linder scored rounds of 73, 74 and 72 over the course of the tournament for an overall career-low. He was the leader for the field with 40 pars in 54 holes.
Senior
Jackson Parnell (Maineville, Ohio) was the fourth Panther to set a low mark over 54 holes. Parnell had rounds of 75 and 76 before setting a low individual round of an 1-under 70. Her 54 hole score of 221 (+8) was tied for 17th place. He had one eagle with eight birdies and 29 pars.
Junior
Tyler Andersen (Columbiana, Ohio) and graduate student
Jack Lindgren ended with a tie of 226 (+13) for 34th place overall. Andersen scored 76, 72 and 78 for his rounds as 1-over 72 was tied for his season best. Lindgren set a season best with a 2-over 73 along with his first day scores of 76 and 77. Both players made eight birdies with Andersen having 31 pars and Lindgren made 28 pars.
Senior
Kai Squires (Dunstable, United Kingdom) was two strokes behind Andersen and Lindgren in a 45th place tie. He was 76 and 79 for the first day of the tournament and went 1-over 73 in the final round Monday, totaling 228 (+15). He had one eagle, ten birdies and 24 pars.
Sophomore
Bryce Cobb (Anna, Ohio) tallied a 234 (+21) for his tournament with individual rounds of 77, 82 and 3-over 75. Cobb made nine birdies and 19 pars as he was in 62nd place.
Sophomore
Kolin McKee (Sunbury, Ohio) had scores of 77 and 83 before withdrawing for round three.
Ohio Dominican heads to Kentucky next week for the 2024 Great Midwest Championships in Owensboro, Kentucky at the Pearl Club. Play begins with 36 holes on Monday (April 22) and the final 18 will come on Tuesday (April 23).
