RICHMOND, Ky. - The Ohio Dominican Panthers women's golf team traveled down to the Bluegrass State for the Findlay Spring Invite at Boone's Trace National Golf Club.
Over the course of Monday (March 18) and Tuesday (March 19), the Panthers played 54 holes for the second time this season. Following a long frost delay to open the tournament, the second round was suspended due to darkness and the last 27 holes were played on day two.
Ohio Dominican finished eighth of 15 teams, which included three top ten teams nationally and a number of regional teams. The Panthers totaled 957 (+93) with individual round scores of 319, 316, and 322.
Sydney Devore (New Philadelphia, Ohio) was the top Panther in the leaderboard standings as she fired a 228 (+12) for a 16th place finish. Devore had the best round for ODU with an even-par 72 in round three after scores of 81 and 75. She led the team with eight birdies and 30 pars for the tournament.
Abbey Dillon (Bolivar, Ohio) ended the tournament in a 39th place tie with a 54-hole total of 239 (+23). Dillon tallied rounds of 78, 80 and 81 across the two days. She had 29 pars and five birdies, both second for the Panthers.
Caroline Tragesser (Murrysville, Pennsylvania) finished two strokes behind Dillon with a 241 (+25) in 43rd place. Just like Dillon, her best round was a 78 with 80 and 83 in her other rounds. She ended with 27 pars in 54 holes with two birdies.
Meg Saffell (Somerset, Ohio) had a 250 (+34), topping out at an 80 for her best round. She scored 83 and 87 for the second and third rounds. She scored three birdies and 22 pars.
Ana Reed (Denton, Texas) scored one round of 84 and two rounds of 86, equaling a 256 (+40) in 69th place. Reed parred on 22 holes with a pair of birdies.
Ellyn Deibel (Lancaster, Ohio) competed as the individual for Ohio Dominican. Deibel had a low round of 83 with rounds of 84 and 90 for a grand total of 257 (+41) with 20 pars and three birdies.
The Panthers will host the 2024 NC4K Classic in Grove City, Ohio at Pinnacle Golf Club on April 8th and 9th.
