CANTON, Ohio – On Thursday afternoon, the Ohio Dominican women's basketball team traveled to northeast Ohio to take on the Pioneers of Malone University. The Panthers lead the entire game but couldn't stop a last-minute rally from the Pioneers, losing 66-60 in Canton.

- Three Panthers secured double figure points tonight with Gabby Stare (Newark, Ohio) and La'Sonja Hill (Cincinnati, Ohio) leading with 18 each. Stare shot 61.5 percent from the field while grabbing three assists and three steals.
- Hill went 8-14 from the floor, shooting 57.1 percent. The freshman added two rebounds while matching Stare with three steals and three assists.
- The last to tab double-digits was Jenna Shackleford (Newark, Ohio) with 10 points. Shackleford went 5-9 from the floor. The forward had two rebounds, a steal, and a block.
- Leading the way on the boards was Brynn Mullet (Berlin, Ohio) with ten rebounds, a new career-high. Mullet also led the team by dishing out four assists. The guard netted eight points.
How It Happened
- Despite the Panthers winning the jump, the Pioneers secured the first basketball in the opening seconds. ODU then went on a 7-0 run to take the lead. The two traded buckets the rest of the quarter, bringing it to 17-13 at the end of the quarter. Both Hill and Stare, netted six points.
- The Black and Gold began the second quarter with an 8-2 scoring swing to push their lead to 10. Ohio Dominican continued to keep a comfortable lead with Hill securing 11 points while Stare grabbed 12. ODU went into the half with a 35-23 lead.
- The Pioneers cut into their deficit with six unanswered points at the start of the third period. A pair of free throws from Mullet and a layup from Stare gave the Panthers a 12-point lead midway through the quarter. The two went bucket-for-bucket to end the quarter with ODU on top 53-43.
- Malone rallied in the final period, outscoring Ohio Dominican 23-7 to pull from behind and win 66-60.
